Good news for Wetherby and the river Wharfe,
Following a campaign over the last two years, the area near the bandstand in Wetherby on the River Wharfe is one of 27 sites across the UK which have progressed to the stage of public consultation regarding an application for the site to become designated as a Bathing Water Site.
This will mean increased monitoring will take place to find out the quality of the water at this site and place pressure on the Environment Agency and Yorkshire Water to make the river cleaner.
